Women Make Waves: Iga, The Adventurer and Dreamer from Poland!

Hi Chicas! We’re thrilled to launch the very first article of our Women Make Waves campaign!

Women Make Waves is all about celebrating the achievements and positive impact of women, especially in surfing and other areas where they’re making a splash.

Each month, we’ll shine a spotlight on incredible women— YOU! ❤️

Meet Iga - The Adventurer and Dreamer

Her story is a powerful example of following your dreams and breaking free from the ordinary. Iga shows us that life can be both thrilling and fulfilling when you step out of your comfort zone.

Two years ago, she left her job in a marketing agency to become a digital nomad, working remotely while exploring new places. Iga has a passion for nature, adrenaline, photography, and the Canary Islands, and loves connecting with open-minded, kind-hearted people who enjoy trying new things and collecting experiences together.

Today, Iga runs her own business Paradox Land. Check out her Instagram, where she captures life’s special moments through photography, creates marketing strategies, coordinates projects, and creates awesome social media content. Don’t miss her portfolio featuring stunning photography from Fuerteventura Island, capturing the unique beauty of the nomadic lifestyle!

M: What inspired you to make the bold decision to quit your job in marketing and become a digital nomad?

I: I remember one day, three years ago, when I was in the tiny apartment I rented in Warsaw, I thought:  Okay, I've finished my master’s degree, I have a 'good job,' I've moved out from my parents' place…

I've done everything on my ‘adult to-do list,' so...

What now?

Am I going to go to the office every day, work out, chill on the sofa, eat, sleep and repeat the same stuff for the next 35 years until I retire?

I was so scared of this idea. I didn't want a boring life in a big city, based on the rat race and routine activities. At that moment, I booked my first flight to Fuerteventura. I was working remotely there for two months and absolutely fell in love with the island vibe.

I realized that I could do exactly the same job but in a café with an ocean view, spend time with amazing people, explore, learn new things and watch sunsets every day.

I set a new goal: I wanted to become a digital nomad. And one year later, I did it.

M: How do you balance your digital nomad work with your passion for surfing and other adventures?

I: Balancing this lifestyle is quite easy for me as a Project Manager. I'm well-organized, I know how to effectively plan my tasks, I can motivate myself and I have everything in my calendar in Asana, haha. I'm also really flexible.

I listen to my body and plan my days and weeks based on my mood.

Sometimes I work a lot; sometimes I do only what I have to do and then explore, rest, spend quality time with friends and collect beautiful memories.

M: What message would you like to share for future generations of female surfers?

Trust your intuition. Take a risk. If they don’t want to go with you, go alone. Do it even though you are scared because every new experience is priceless.

For all the women thinking about taking a leap, Iga’s message is clear:

Trust your intuition, take that risk, and if you have to, do it alone. Every new experience, even if it feels a bit scary, is a priceless part of your adventure.

We’re excited to share your stories of pursuing dreams, overcoming challenges, and making waves beyond the surfing world.  Have a story to tell or know someone who does? We’d love to hear from you! Contact us here.
